“I wrote Nadia’s story because I believe that while financial prosperity and education are great drivers to encourage youth to go into the STEM field, it is crucial to provide them with emotional support, validation and exposure opportunities to be successful in STEM.”
As a child, reading opened Ja’del’s mind to world around her. Her favorite books were Green Eggs and Ham, The Giving Tree, and Where the Wild Things Are. Stories that shaped character and instilled an adventurous appetite, haha!
Even before she could read, her mother would challenge her to read her children’s book solely from the pictures. Little did her mother know, that exercise fostered her ability to imagine a world beyond what was in front of her.
Join Ja’del, the author of Nadia Goes to the Great Fishing Hole, as she hosts a virtual children’s book reading Tuesday at 10 am via Zoom. All you need is a healthy curiosity and eager listening ear :)
